At East Doncaster Veterinary Hospital, we recommend desexing your pet (dogs, cats, and rabbits) from 6 months of age to promote their health and well-being. Canine Parasite Control
Worm puppies every two weeks until 12 weeks old, then monthly until 6 months old. For dogs over 6 months, we recommend worming every three months.
We recommend an annual heartworm injection, starting at 12 weeks, with a booster at 6 months, and then annually thereafter.
For dogs over 8 weeks old, we recommend Bravecto Flea Chews every 3 months or Revolution monthly spot-on treatment.
Bravecto provides 4-month protection against paralysis ticks, and can be used alongside Sentinel and Revolution.
Feline Parasite Control
Worm kittens every two weeks until 12 weeks old, then monthly until 6 months old. For cats over 6 months, worming is recommended every 3 months. Use Revolution monthly and a Tapeworm tablet every 3 months.
We recommend Bravecto for cats, a spot-on treatment applied every 3 months, which can be used alongside worming programs.
